The city of Babylon emerged in the third millennium BC in Mesopotamia and became the capital of two empires, one thousand years apart: the Old and Neo Babylonian Empires. During the latter, in the 7th and 6th centuries BC, Babylon became probably the largest city in the world. It was during this period that spectacular hanging gardens would have been built in Babylon, possibly by King Nebuchadnezzar II. But the appearance, location, and even the existence of these gardens, are uncertain. In tonight's story, we explore this historical mystery.
