Neuro-Trauma Informed Mindfulness
Meditation builds capacity for resilience and that is one of the best tools for healing from trauma, but meditation can also be particularly challenging and sometimes overly activating for trauma survivors. Trauma survivors can include, among others, those whose family or culture has experienced historical trauma, those who have experienced interpersonal or environmental trauma, who suffer from sustained stress, and those who have experienced prejudice, discrimination, or threats to their person or family. This session will teach you about what I call the Optimum Meditation Zone (OMZ) and help you to identify how to create a sense of safety within the meditation practice through orienting to your physical space.
