The Man of the Wildwood

In this fairytale, a young squire's son, yearning for adventure, leaves home and encounters a mysterious figure known as the Man of the Wildwood: a wild, noble man imprisoned in a cage. Feeling sympathy, the youth frees him, an act of kindness that will later be returned.
