Mr. 'Possum - A Children's Story (1917)

Mr. 'Possum is another in a series of stories by author Abbie Phillips Walker. In this story we discover how possums received their distinct whitish-black color. We also learn about what kind of trouble you can get into when you are too lazy to take care of yourself properly. This writer was prolific during the early part of the 20th century. I continue to enjoy narrating her stories and hope you enjoy them too. They are not as harsh as the Grimm's fairytales. Yet, they still have a good moral to the story and some surprising plot twists. This story was included in one of Walker's books which featured 25 of her stories. It was originally published in 1917.
