The Fairies & The Dandelions

This is a sweet children's fable from the early 1900s. In this story, the dandelions want their 'caps' to be yellow. However, there are several yellow flowers in the field already. The Queen of the Fairies is worried that if there are too many yellow plants they may be jealous of each other. So, the Fairies and the Dandelions strike a bargain. Half the time they wear their white 'caps' and the other half they wear yellow 'caps'. This tale is written by Abbie Phillips Walker. Appropriate for those 4 and up.
